Princess Ida – 25 to 28 March 2015

“This was a splendidly performed production of the great Gilbert and Sullivan ~ The music and harmonies were superb, with beautiful costumes for the audience to marvel at. The harmonies achieved by this wonderful cast were pitched perfectly and with plenty of diction, so you could hear the words with ease. They each showed their own piece of individuality and remained in character throughout the piece. The choreography and movement was well executed and their exits/entrances were swift and seamless.”

Poster from the Centenary Company's 2011 production of RuddigoreRuddigore – 9 to 12 November 2011

“This was a truly memorable show and an excellent production of the Gilbert and Sullivan classic performed in the traditional way by some excellent and talented performers who both acted and sung extremely well throughout. Aided by the facilities of an excellent local theatre this really was a memorable show which reminded you of how well and why the style has endured and developed.”

Poster thumbnail, The Sorcerer 2003The Sorcerer – 12 to 15 November 2003

“The small orchestra of fifteen was clearly professional, and provided sensitive support to the singers throughout… There was much attention to detail in costume, hairstyles and accessories… making the period ‘flavour’ totally convincing.”
“Another compelling performer was David Johnson as the Notary [who]  in a brief solo passage sounded like a reincarnation of George Grossmith”
“Philip Hayes and Emma Gray did well as the just-married couple Alexis and Aline: their singing voices matched nicely, and there was some convincingly realistic acting”
